Code of Conduct

 

• The Canine Massage Therapy Centre acknowledges and respects the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 and Exemption Order 1962 by never working upon an animal without gaining prior veterinary approval and works within the confines of the Law
• Never to make recommendations beyond my qualification and training
• It is the job of the your veterinarian to diagnose, the Canine Massage Therapy Centre does NOT diagnose
• To work with Veterinary Surgeons keeping them informed with the treatment that their patients are receiving
• To treat every patient professionally with care and consideration
• Respect confidential information and abide by the Data Protection Act
• Recognise the limits of professional competence and training by always referring back to the custodial Veterinary Surgeon when necessary
• To work with other professionals in ways that are best suited for the benefit of the dog
• To always conduct a full consultation and maintain accurate records
• To explain the chosen course of treatment and expected outcomes in a clear and precise manner ensuring the client fully understands
• Respects the client's right to ask for a second opinion
• Present a professional appearance and manner at all times
• Ensure that relevant professional indemnity and public liability insurance cover is taken out in order to protect both clients/patients and members of the public and the Canine Massage Therapy Centre
